What does Carbon × Kaizen mean?
Carbon × Kaizen connects measurement, an understanding of the work, practical changes and checks on the results. Follow the energy behind a good product, then give each improvement clear data, conditions and someone responsible for it.
This is the management approach introduced in these works, not the name of an international standard or certification. These stories explain it in everyday language. For software, implementation and business solutions, visit the Carboka official website.
For busy people who still ask questions.
Whether you're in the office, the store, the factory, or just want to better understand the things you buy every day, you can start with any of these. The characters are not perfect role models: some are busy, some are in a hurry, some are stuck in business as usual; together they practice asking questions clearly.
Where does the content come from?
- Carboka Stories: The Electricity Journey of a Good Product, 48-page R2 publication draft, October 2026. Characters and artwork come from the original; dialogue and chapters have been adapted for web reading.
- Industry 5.0: Carbon × Kaizen White Paper, Chinese R2 edition, A4 reading version dated 17 September 2026. The source for the ideas on measurement, IE+E, OEE+E, TPM+E, ROI+E and verification.
- Teaching scenarios from Carboka’s October 2026 presentation were used to check energy allocation to products, good-unit counts and consistent definitions.
The main story example uses 900 final good units; 500 → 450 kWhas its starting point. Other white-paper examples use different quantities and conditions; keep each example separate. Internal meeting presentations are not published here.
Content version: 2026.10.17 · Revised 13-language edition. Original illustrations were created with AI assistance. Characters and scenes are fictional and are not evidence of field results.
Five useful ideas, explained simply.
Electricity consumption (kWh) and power (kW)
Think of power (kW) as the rate of water flowing from a tap. Electricity consumption (kWh) is the amount collected over time. Lower power over a longer time can still mean more electricity used.
Good units, rework and processing passes
A good unit meets the quality requirements. Rework means processing the same item again. A processing counter can count that item more than once, so it isn't the same as the number of good units ready to deliver.
Assigning and sharing out energy use
Link energy used during a defined period to products or activities using a clear method. Shared equipment needs a justified allocation rule. The individual amounts must add up to the total, without gaps or double counting.
Electricity emissions and product carbon footprint
Emissions from electricity depend on the electricity included and the emissions factors used. A full product carbon footprint also considers raw materials, transport, manufacturing, use and end of life, following a defined method and scope.
Measure, improve and verify
Measurement gives us data. Improvement means changing something. Verification means checking the result with a suitable method. A green dashboard or a falling number alone is not third-party verification.
