Go from story to numbers and back to your daily life.
This is a teaching exercise. It does not connect to or control equipment.
Experiment 01 · Read an equipment power curve
Electricity is a machine's digital footprint.
Click on a state to see what the curve tells us.
The same shape may still have different causes.
Even when a machine looks idle, check what the meter includes.
A near-zero curve may mean the main machine is off. Controls or shared equipment could still be using electricity. One machine being off doesn't mean the whole system uses none.
You can ask: What equipment does this meter measure? The curves are for teaching purposes only and are not equipment diagnosis or control suggestions. The actual status must be confirmed based on on-site events.
Experiment 02 · Electricity per good unit
Less electricity overall. But less per good unit?
Choose an example, then try changing the numbers.
Assume the same product, quality and scope of electricity use.
Electricity per good unit
Electricity per good unit is down 10.0%
For the same 900 good units, electricity falls from 500 to 450 kWh. Electricity per good unit is lower, but measurements and comparison conditions still need checking before claiming a real improvement.
See how it works
Electricity per good unit = all allocated electricity ÷ final good-unit count.
Reduction (%) = (baseline electricity per good unit − adjusted electricity per good unit) ÷ baseline electricity per good unit × 100.
It is first calculated with full precision and finally displayed to three decimal places. When the base is zero, the percentage is not calculated.
All preset numbers are teaching examples from the stories or related exercises. This compares electricity per good unit; it is not a full product carbon footprint, third-party verification or a promise of cost savings.

Before making equipment adjustments, have them confirmed by an authorized person. Observing and asking is a good place to start.
