Use the curve to ask better questions
Off, standby, startup, warm-up, idling, production and abnormal conditions can each have different load patterns. The curve gives clues; its shape alone cannot prove a fault or waste.
Check the whole cycle
A short shutdown might save standby electricity but add warm-up, rework or waiting. Count that extra electricity too. Have a qualified person approve a small trial, record the original settings and define quality and safety limits before comparing the full results.
Pause here. What would you choose?
When you see a period of standby power consumption, what is the most appropriate next step?
